Hans Zimmer is a German film composer who rose to fame with the iconic movie Rain Man. "When I was coming up with the music for Rain Man, I always thought: don't try to drown out the characters. Stay out of the foreground. Raymond, the main character, doesn't really understand where he is. He sees the world differently than we do. Why not create 'world music' for a world that only exists in his head?". - Hans recalls. This work was a real breakthrough in his career - Zimmer was nominated for an Oscar. The best directors in Hollywood were lining up to work with him. And Hans completely abandoned his work, often composing musical themes for two or three movies at a time. His music so impressed Disney Studios that they commissioned Zimmer to score the animated film The Lion King. The theme music for the movie earned him three prestigious awards - an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a Grammy. Since then, Zimmer has won numerous awards and has become one of Hollywood's finest. Not a single Academy Award ceremony is without a Zimmer nomination.
